Terms of Service

Short, and written to be understood.

These terms govern your use of Relay. By creating an account or calling the API, you agree to them.

This is a template, not legal advice. Relay is an early-stage company and these terms have not been reviewed by a lawyer. If you are signing on behalf of a company with a procurement process, ask us for a proper agreement rather than relying on this page — we would rather negotiate a real contract than have you accept something neither of us has read carefully.

1. What Relay does

Relay compares three records of a travel order — what was agreed, what was charged, and what a supplier confirmed — and reports where they disagree. It is a detection and reporting service.

Relay does not book travel, move money, issue refunds, or cancel reservations. It recommends an action; carrying that action out is yours to do. Nothing Relay outputs is a financial, legal, or travel-advisory recommendation.

2. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your API keys secret and for everything done with them. Keys are shown once and stored only as hashes, so we cannot recover one for you — revoke and reissue instead. Tell us promptly if you believe a key has been exposed.

One account per person. Do not share sign-in credentials; add teammates to the workspace.

3. Your data

You keep ownership of everything you send. You grant us only the permission needed to run the service for you: store it, compare it, and show it back to you. We do not train models on it and we do not sell it. See the Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for having the right to send us the traveller data you send, and for telling travellers about it where the law requires that.

4. Acceptable use

Do not use Relay to break the law, to attack the service or anyone else's, to work around rate limits, or to resell access without an agreement with us. Do not send data you have no right to send.

5. Availability

We aim to keep Relay running and we will tell you about planned interruptions. Unless a signed agreement says otherwise, there is no uptime guarantee. Free and sandbox usage is provided as-is and may change or pause. Do not build a process that fails unsafely if a Relay call does not return.

6. Payment

Paid plans are billed monthly in advance through Stripe. Overage is billed at the per-order rate published on the pricing page at the time of use. Cancel any time; you keep access to the end of the period you have paid for. We do not give pro-rata refunds for partial months, but if something went wrong, ask — we would rather refund you than argue.

We will give at least 30 days' notice by email before changing prices for an existing customer.

7. Accuracy, and its limits

Relay's checks are deterministic comparisons of the data you send. It cannot detect a problem in data it never received, and it cannot tell whether the data you sent is true. A "cleared" verdict means the three records you supplied agree with each other — it is not a guarantee that a trip will happen.

8. Liability

To the maximum extent the law allows, Relay is provided as-is, and our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before it arose. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost bookings, lost revenue, or the cost of travel disruption. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

9. Ending it

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, or stop offering the service entirely — in which case we will give reasonable notice and let you export your data first.

10. Changes and law

We may update these terms; material changes will be emailed to account holders, not slipped in. Continued use after a change means you accept it. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
