Terms of use

Last updated 27 October 2026. Relay is in private beta. These terms are short on purpose; if something here matters to you, ask us.

What Relay is

Relay is a travel assistant you text, run by a small team. It asks each traveller on a trip what they need in private, proposes options, runs a vote and records the decision. If you ask, our team books your flight and hotel for you by hand.

Booking through Relay

When you reply “book it”, we send you a quote with the flight, the hotel and the total you would pay. Nothing is booked until you pay through the payment link in the quote. Once you’ve paid, we make the booking and send you the confirmation numbers.

The flight and the stay themselves are provided by the airline and the hotel, under their terms: fare rules, baggage, changes, cancellations and refunds. Check the names and dates in the quote before you pay; your name must match your ID. If you need to change or cancel something, tell Relay and we will help, within what the airline’s and hotel’s rules allow.

Prices and availability

Prices and availability come from third parties and move constantly. A price in an option is an estimate at the time it was sent, not an offer. The total in a quote is what you pay; if it changes before you pay, we send you a new quote.

Inviting people

If you give Relay someone’s phone number to invite them to a trip, you confirm they know you’re inviting them. Anyone can tell Relay they’re not coming, and anyone can ask us to delete their data.

Acceptable use

Don’t use Relay to harass anyone, to impersonate someone, to give it details that aren’t yours to give, or to do anything unlawful. We may end access if that happens.

Beta

Relay is early. It will have bugs, it may be unavailable, and features will change or disappear. It is provided as-is, without warranties. Don’t rely on it as the only record of anything that matters: keep the confirmations the airline and hotel send you.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for the travel itself (which the airline or hotel provides), or for decisions your group made. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Price

Planning with Relay is free during the private beta. The cost of a booking is shown in the quote before you pay. If we start charging for anything else, we will tell you before it applies to you.
